Reviews of 2 Lighthouse Cottage

"This place is truly special. Set in the spectacular South Walney nature reserve with 360 degree views around the coast. The area itself is home to a huge variety of butterflies, birds and wildflowers, as well as cows, sheep and seals. Various hides around the reserve allow you to observe the flora and fauna in their environment. The cottage comes with all home comforts, state of the art music system and much more. It is immaculately clean and very comfortable. The highlight of our trip was when the owner took us up to the top of the lighthouse... what a treat! "

"The drive up to the cottage is along an unmade road and quite hairy in a normal vehicle, however is definitely worth it when you arrive at the lighthouse cottage. The cottage itself was very well equipped, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. A "goodie" box full of tasty treats welcomed us. The cottage was spotlessly clean, with fluffy towels and comfy beds with good quality duvets, pillows and bed linen. Every bedroom has its own TV and the Sonos sound system and iPad were great. The nature reserve around the cottage is beautiful. There were several pairs of binoculars in the cottage and they were used to spot seals bobbing in the sea. Even us townies got back to nature here! Overall, this is the perfect place to go if you want a relaxing, peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life."

"Thanks to the owners who have made the Lighthouse Cottage a great place to spend our holiday, it had everything you needed plus extra touches to make our holiday wonderful. We took our son and his girlfriend, even with the different ages we all had a wonderful time there, we went walks around the Nature Reserve where the Lighthouse Cottage is and took some lovely photos of the wildlife there and we even managed to see the seals in the sea, but sadly they never appeared on the beach while we were there, I must add due to it being a Nature Reserve you are not allowed on the beach and there are trails you can walk along and hides to go in to see the different types of birds and seals, plus the rabbits that love to run about. There are TV's in each bedroom and living room and sono music. A washing machine and dryer in the UT, very handy. The week went for us nice a slowly, its was very peaceful and we took see great photos of the sun set and the Lighthouse when the lights were on."

"Superb location, the sea looks dramatic and the waves were huge. Ideal for bird watchers and walkers. House is incredibly comfortable and welcoming, beds and pillows are luxurious and the elevated lounge and kitchen mean that you can watch the tide come in. We even managed a gin and tonic whilst watching the sun go down in February- thanks for helping us make family memories ??"
