Reviews of Wellberry

"We returned to Wellberry for our second visit and it was just as fantastic as we had remembered. It was spotlessly clean and still in tip-top condition. The design was a sumptuous as we had remembered and there is so much room for a family of six. We were also able to explore the local area in more detail this time, and the house really is so well-positioned as a base for this lovely part of the country, and there are plenty of walks right on the doorstep as well. Cannot be faulted in any way; a lovely property."

"Wow, what a find! My partner spotted this one, and as we'd never been to this part of the country before, we decided to give it a go. Wellberry is spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed throughout. All the rooms are well-appointed and the kitchen is among the best-equipped we have seen. Not only did we luxuriate around the house for a couple of days, but the property is ideally situated for days out. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Absolutely brilliant, cannot recommend highly enough."

"Wow, what a find! My partner spotted this one, and as we'd never been to this part of the country before, we decided to give it a go. Spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed throughout, this was a truly superb holiday property. All the rooms are well-appointed and the kitchen is among the best-equipped we have seen. There were two adults and four children aged between 12-6 and we all had more than enough room inside and out. And a word about that as well - another reviewer here has stated that the pictures do not do justice to the cottage - this is true. You simply don't get the sense of space that exists inside from the pictures. And no pictures of the exterior? There is a really good sized, well-maintained lawn round three sides of the property and the view from the back patio door is breathtaking. A little bit of research using maps and Google Earth showed that you are looking right across at the North-eastern part of the Yorkshire Dales. Not only did we luxuriate around the house for a couple of days, but the property is ideally situated for days out. We were able to easily reach Barnard Castle, the Bowes Museum and Beamish Museum while we were there, and there is also a really pleasant walk through farmland around Staindrop (which is about 5 minutes away) and there are other trips planned for when we return in 2017! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The kids were genuinely sad to leave here, and you know what cynics they can be! Absolutely brilliant, cannot recommend highly enough."

"This was a well equipped cottage with the "wow factor." It had lots of extra touches from the traditional log burner to the ultra modern shower in the family bathroom. There were lovely views from the cottage across the surrounding countryside. All in all a relaxing family break."

The bread, butter, cheese and milk along with the fresh flowers were much appreciated. The views from the cottage across the surrounding countryside are stunning!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The quiet location made for a relaxing stay with panoramic views to admire. Although on a farm, we were surprised at how handy it was for so many amenities and places to visit. There was so much beautiful scenery within easy reach which meant that there was something for all of us, without having to go too far. Finally, the birds in the garden were a source of joy."

"We stayed at this cottage for one week over the Christmas period. Upon arrival we were greeted by a real Christmas tree, homemade bread, cheese, butter, tea bags etc. which was a lovely warming welcome. The photos do not do this cottage justice - it is a beautiful, spacious building with stunning views. The log fire was wonderful and really made the place feel Christmassy and we were provided with more than enough logs to keep us going!"

"Wellberry was in a beautiful setting. The views were amazing. It was well away from main roads so very peaceful. There was everything you needed, a real home from home. We would consider booking both cottages next time for a full family get together."
