Location

Wayside Cottage is a delightful Grade II listed, end-terrace cottage set in the small village of Staindrop near Barnard Castle. With one double bedroom and a shower room, it can sleep two people. There is also a sitting room with acomfy sofa and electric fire. Outside, there is a small enclosed courtyard with furniture, where you can let the dogs out in safety, whilst roadside parking can be found at the opposite end of the row to the cottage on a first come, first served basis. Wayside Cottage is a perfect base for couples seeking a romantic retreat within easy reach of the many attractions of North East England.

The pretty Teesdale village of Staindrop has always been closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle and its owners. Staindrop has many interesting shops, pubs and cafes set round its long village green. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is 5 miles away, with its castle, the Bowes Museum, plus of course its wide range of shops and tea rooms. Walkers will enjoy the many walks around Teesdale.
