"We booked somewhere to stay at short notice and wanted a great chill out place with maybe a pub nearby and located so that we could do a few short walks as well as use as a base for touring parts of Durham and Yorkshire. That is just what we got, with a really good pub for eating in two doors down and plenty of walks starting from the door. Walks by the Tees start just over the road and from the back of the cottage the old railway line to Middleton or Barnard Castle is accessible within 5 mins. As it turned out we were the first guests of the current owner and we must say he has a very good place there. Apart from the location it was very well equipped, with appliances in the kitchen, a spacious bathroom and plenty of space in the main bedroom as well as storage and views! We would certainly recommend staying here for two or three people and can't wait to return !"
