Location

Longhouse sits in a two acre garden just outside the village of St Keverne on the Lizard Peninsular. This detached cottage has one double bedroom and one twin which with the addition of a family bathroom makes it suitable for four people. Travel cot and highchair available on request. There is also a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting room with an electric fire. Outside the cottage is shared use of a two acre garden with outdoor furniture and off road parking for two cars. Just one mile from the coast, Longhouse is a quintessentially English country cottage.

The village of St Keverne lies on the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula just 1.25 miles inland with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. From St Keverne you can explore the spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic cliff walks along the South West Coastal path. Just north is the Helford River, a yachtsman's dream and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. Further afield visit Falmouth with one of the largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and of course you cannot miss out on a trip to The National Maritime Museum.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Reviews of Longhouse

"A comfortable cottage except for the bathroom facilities which needs a serious update and overall. The shower is truly appalling, water pressure virtually nonexistent.kitchen facilities are ok but lighting needs to be improved. The main double bed also rather hard. The walk to Roskillys: although pleasant through the fields takes about 20minutes and then another 20minutes walk to St Kerverne."

"Situated in a fairly remote area of the Lizard penininsular, the Longhouse is a well adapted barn with " all mod con " ;set in a lovely garden and next to an extensive orchard . Exiting the garden from the back, there is a picturesque walk through fields and quiet lanes to the quaint village of St Keverne and thence to the National Trust coastal walk. The owner lives on site and proved very friendly and helpful. The only possible drawback we envisaged ,would be for people with limited mobility as the bathroom is on the ground floor next to the steep stairs."

"This lovely cottage in a beautiful setting is well placed for walks and interesting attractions further afield in a superb part of Cornwall. It is perfect for our dog having the garden to run in. The cottage is well heated, so important even in summer and very nicely fitted out. The gardens are just wonderful and clearly the whole place is much loved and looked after. We like our hostess very much and hope to return."

"Lovely little cottage situated down short lane so well away from road noise. Large garden with access to open fields and footpath. Equipped to good standard and had everything we required for our stay. The owner made herself available if required but left us to our own devices. Would recommend."

"We stayed here for 4 nights with our dog. The cottage was very comfortable and in a great location to explore The Lizard whilst also being very quiet. We found St Keverne to be a lovely village with a friendly pub and handy small shops. The routes to other local villages was easy to walk or drive and also the drive to both Falmouth and Helston didn't take long on quiet roads."

"This charming cottage is comfortable and very well placed for exploring the Lizard. The owner is helpful and it's good to have access to the garden and parking for the car. Local walks are interesting and it's easy to walk to St Keverne, where the ice-cream factory is welcoming. We were unfortunate to spend some time there in cold (tho' clear) weather, and the heating in the cottage was very effective. Very much to be recommended."

We loved the location, allowing us peace and quiet and long walks, but close enough to pop out for the occasional pastie! We will definitely be returning soon."
