Location
This penthouse apartment in Falmouth boasts spectacular panoramic views of the sea. Within yards of the historic Pendennis Castle and the blue flag status beach, Hamilton Place has fantastic views across Falmouth Bay and is ideal for families, friends and couples. The apartment has two bedrooms both with ensuite facilities and sleeps four people. There is a separate sitting room, dining room and kitchen. Falmouth is a magnificent holiday destination centred around the harbour and scenic waterways. Pleasure boat trips and fishing excursions can be enjoyed to Truro city with its dramatic Neolithic three-spired cathedral, or to St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula, a stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sail, swim, fish or play golf. The National Maritime Museum and Henry VIII's Pendennis Castle are worthy attractions.
Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbourside pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes).
Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
Reviews of Hamilton Place
"We arrived at the apartment after a long drive to be greeted by home made scones, clotted cream and jam! What a fabulous and unexpected added extra. Furthermore, there was milk in the fridge, hand wash in each of the bathrooms and washing up liquid and kitchen roll in the kitchen, small but thoughtful touches that add to the relaxation factor when you first arrive. The view from the living room is absolutely breathtaking and standing at the window with a glass of wine looking out to sea makes you feel rather special, as does the lift to the apartment which delivers you directly to the accommodation with the use of keys (i.e. secure). What struck is next about this lovely flat was the size of the rooms, both bedrooms, living room and kitchen are a generous size, as were the huge bathrooms which I suspect when new were particularly special. Both are a little dated now but everything worked well and the shower was very good. The towels supplied were absolutely spotless, as was the rest of the accommodation. I did feel that both bedrooms could have been improved with a mirrored dressing table to sit at whilst doing my hair and make up but that would be my only criticism of the bedrooms as the bed was extremely comfortable, we both slept very well in spotless bedding in a lovely room with ample storage space. The kitchen (again a little bit dated) was extremely well equipped with all appliances working well - dishwasher, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, toaster, kettle. Plenty of good pans, plates and glasses and every type of cutlery you could possibly think of or need. The location of the apartment is also excellent. We had fabulous weather and so walked everywhere, the town being about a 10 minute walk away and the closest beach (Castle) being just in front of the building. More beaches are just 10 minutes or so away, Gyllanvase being really beautiful, especially if you like a dip in the sea - cold in May but I highly recommend it! The parking is underneath the building and just a few metres from the entrance to the lift. It is a small space so I wouldn't recommend bringing anything over a standard family car, but I believe this is also noted in the accommodation details. Instructions on how to get to it, how to access the lift etc were all clear and overall our stay from start to finish was a memorable and enjoyable one. I think the accommodation could do with a little updating in places but please don't let this put you off as everything worked really well and it was an absolute joy to stay in this wonderful apartment, in its fabulous location."
