Reviews of Sea Ayr

"Great apartment, as advertised. Lovely welcome pack on arrival, cream tea, after a long drive very much appreciated. Have stayed here before and would recommend it. Location very good for walks. Everything you need in the apartment, cosy & warm after a rainy day walking. Owners let us know the apartment was ready early & were available if required. Will come bak again."

"We stayed in this apartment and had a lovely holiday. However the owner has another apartment a few doors down which was offered when we went back 3 months later. We had an awful experience. DSS had taken residence upstairs. Parties, language noise beyond belief. I have an email from the owner to prove the state of affairs. We were promised a replacement week. He never honoured that promise. I then asked for the refund he said he was getting from the council. He has ignored me since. That holiday was my husbands last. He is now in a hospice dying of cancer. A fact the owner is fully aware of. Don't have anything to do with these apartments. If you have a problem you will encounter an owner who will promise you the earth to get your business back but you'll not see him honouring it."

"Bude Cornwall about a mile from the beach grate for swimming and boarding eating places and coffee and tea rooms all over Bude is beautiful and the Sea Ayr apartments was spot on a lovely place to stay with all the home touches that you don't normally get we took all our things we needed for the week but if we forgot anything it was probably in the apartment already, on the day we got a text to say the place was ready about lunch time witch is fantastic knowing you can get in and drop all your stuff off no hanging about also a fresh bottle of milk and a Cornish cream tea what a welcome, on a night the place was very quiet all I could hear was the birds a nice patio area and a large grassed garden for any children to play ( the complex allows dogs so if your not a dog person but there was no barking or any dog running around without the owner with it we did see some dog mess on the grass ) anyway the apartment we great good size rooms fully fitted kitchen with all the bits and bods I would recommend this place to stay it was lovely the walk to Bude was about 20 minuets for us the road is small but the cars on it drive slow and you can hear them coming and the views are very nice I would definitely stay here again when we come the Bude."

"My family enjoyed our stay at the apartment called Sea Ayr in Bude. The scenery was lovely from the windows in the apartment and it was comfortable, well equipped and ideal for our needs. The only drawback I felt was the road down to the apartment. My husband & I walked into Bude via Maer Lane every day. But the drawback was the traffic along Maer Lane; the lane is quite narrow in parts. The hedges were overgrown along the lane and if had they been cut back at the beginning of the season, it would have helped enormously. Or a reduced speed limit on the lane would also be a deterrent. There is a Holiday Park off Maer Lane, so I would have thought the suggestions above would also benefit their customers. All in all, we had a lovely stay in Sea Ayr and hope to return in the future."

"We have recently returned from a very relaxing stay at this lovely apartment. We had a 10 month old and the set up in the bedroom was perfect for babys nighttime feed and snuggles. A few nice items up out the way for safe keeping and the whole apartment was child friendly, this was the week he established walking so being able to safely explore was important. The lawn was well used and is a great space. We had some wet days and some scorchers. We found plenty to do no matter the weather. We enjoyed the museum, soft playzone, beaches, local Swimming pool with wave machine and ran out of time to go bowling. Boscastle, tintagle, crackington haven & widemouthbay are all a short senic drive away. The apartments location is a beautiful 20 walk (that only feels like 10 even when pushing a pram) from crooklets beach. We found some great places to eat. Tommy jacks was a favorite of ours, the barman had only been there a few weeks and he was fantastic. The lifes a beach restaurant has amazing seafood. The owners have thought of everything to help you enjoy your stay even down to beach towels and a bucket and spade. If you're looking for a convenient location in a clean practical more than well equipt apartment, which has a lovely cosy feel to relax in the evenings. This is it."

"The owners were very helpfull, their direction made it prity easy to find. There compimentary cream scones were very welcoming. The flat was very clean and every thing was in very good order, the beds were very comfotable. the owners even provided some games and toy for children along with some books and dvd's. The wi-fi speed was good and their is a shared laundry should you need it. The town is only a 10 to 15 minute walk depending on your speed (not very fast) with one of the supermarkets being the first thing you come to which was very handy, with two others on the far side of town. We only had a week would have liked to have been able to spend longer their in order to explore more of the area and its history. Would definately like to return when possible."

"We loved staying here, to start with the owner had left us a cream tea, so that was a lovely start :-) It's down a very quiet lane, it's best approached from Bude Town centre - I'd recommend not letting your satnav take you via the back route from the A39 - it's very narrow in places and has one steep part. The lane that it's situated on is fine though. It's a short walk to Northcott Mouth beach via the lanes , from there you're one the coast path, I did the loop into Bude, and then back up to Sea-Ayr. The apartment must have been rennovated very lately - it's all up to a good modern standard. The broadband even seemed a good speed. Bude itself is lovely - plenty of non-chain shops, although the Sainsburys is very handy Sea-Ayr is on our list to revisit."

"It was independent of the town but close enough to stroll to all the amenities, and in the other direction there was a beach of crashing thunderous waves. The area had many interesting places to visit and stunning scenery. Being self catering gave us the opportunity to adapt our plans to our schedule, not others' mealtimes. The whole time was, for us, relaxing and pleasurable."

"The apartment was well eqipped and close to town (20 mins walk) and beaches (10 mins), everything as described on the website. It proved to be a brilliant base for the Hartland Penninsula, and, if we had had another 2 weeks, to the middle area of Cornwall too! We visited Lundy, Docton Mill, Hartland Abbey, galleries in Bideford and Hartland, Hartland Point and Quay, had an art fusion classs in Bude (twice), RELAXED. It proved not to be a holiday where you wanted to get back home, more one you wanted to get home because you had achieved "laid back". Incredibly friendly people, they weren't selling you something, they shared what they had. Someone said, "you don't visit Bude once", i can inderstand why."
