Location

Dunn Cottage is a smartly renovated terraced cottage in the heart of Boscastle, the famous village where two rivers meet the sea in a natural harbour between steep moorland hillsides. The house sleeps five people in three bedrooms, two doubles, a twin and a family bathroom. On the ground floor is a kitchen, dining room and sitting room with wood burning stove. Outside a neat, little paved garden on two levels with garden furniture and an outhouse with cloakroom. Dunn Cottage is a comfortable and well-equipped cottage and a wonderful base for families to explore this delightful part of north Cornwall.

A perfect Cornish coastal village, the road through Boscastle runs down to the small harbour at the bottom of the hill. The quaint village shops, local restaurants and pubs offering good food, Cornish real ales and live entertainment by local musicians, make this an ever popular visitor destination.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Reviews of Dunn Cottage

"Very comfortable overall, well equipped and maintained. Nicer than it looked in the pictures with everything you need. Handy for the town. The parking is on -street, just up the hill. "

"This cottage was absolutely perfect for us. The first part of the week we had our adult daughter and her boyfriend with us and the a few days with just the two of us. There was plenty of space, although like most cottages it's not ideal for someone who's very tall - the boyfriend knocked his head a couple of times! Beautiful furnishings and very well equipped with a perfect sun trap courtyard garden. A lovely village with some great places to eat and a few shops, including a good sized Spar. Boscastle is on the coastal path so very handy for those of us who love walking. Two notes of caution though: firstly, although parking is possible in the lane, it is not easy and those with larger cars than our Golf need to have a calm nature to negotiate the tight spaces. Secondly, it's probably not a great spot for someone with mobility issues as the cottage is on a steep hill - the village is at the bottom and the main road at the top. This did not detract from our wonderful week in this perfect cottage but is worth being aware of."

"Lovely cornish cottage tucked away in uphill Boscastle. Its located in upper Boscastle, so be prepared for the uphill walk to the pub, and also from the village, but as we didn't come to drive, we didn't mind this whatsoever. We really enjoyed our stay in lovely Cornwall, and Dunn Cottage provided all we needed, with a traiditonal kitchen, spacious diner with ample seating, and all the crockery and cutlery you would ever need. Rooms were light and airy, and very spacious. The outside space was a bonus, and its nice to chill outside when the sun was shining. I would say parking could be an issue, but we managed to get parked outside every day, and we also noticed that there was some road parking at the top of the hill near the hotel that could be used if you had friends visiting like we did. If you have time, visit the pottery shop in Boscastle, and also the farm shop on the outskirts of the village. One thing we would mention is that Dunn Cottage does itself a disservice my not mentioning some things it has in its booklet. We discovered an outside toilet, and also, on our last day we found a chest full of games in the lounge! Maybe the guest guide needs updating, but this is a very minor point. Thanks Dunn Cottage and Helpful Holidays!"

"As two friends from across the globe, meeting up for a Cornwall holiday, we couldn't have chosen a better location. We each enjoyed our own bedrooms - spacious and comfortable - with another to spare. The kitchen was charming and extremely well appointed for our own cooking ventures, as was the dining room, accessorized with attractive dinner sets and cutlery. Every room was a delight and the outdoor terrace an added bonus for eating alfresco. The cottage was in walking distance to the town for restaurants and intriguing shops. A maintenance issue was settled quickly when a repairman was dispatched to the property promptly. The only difficulty was in finding a parking location for our car close to the cottage. I would recommend this property highly and would return again."
