Location

1 Prospect Terrace is a lovely end-terrace cottage in the heart of Bodmin. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are a king-size double and a room with a 2'6" single bed with an additional 2'6" stacker bed. There is also a ground floor bathroom, a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area. Outside there is off road parking for one car and a front courtyard with furniture. Bodmin is virtually in the centre of Cornwall and as such 1 Prospect Terrace provides an ideal base for friends or a family to explore the surrounding area.

Bodmin, the one time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain?s premier holiday destinations.

Reviews of 1 Prospect Terrace

"This review is mainly about the cottage but also about it's location; Bodmin. I'm sure lots of people who visit Cornwall want to be by the sea but I've found travelling to visit things from a coastal location can be a bit of a pain so we booked this property as a bit of an experiment to see how easy it was to 'tour' Cornwall from the central(ish) location. We weren't really sure what to expect from the town having only visited for an afternoon a few years previously. We ended up arriving around 9pm (due to having our house invaded by bees the night before our holiday - what weird and wonderful happenings!) and were greeted by a wonderfully comfortable, clean and simply lovely place to call 'home' for the week. The cottage was well suited for me and my sister and our Dad. It was also impeccably clean which was appreciated all the more after 'Bee-gate'. The information about appliances was easily spotted in the kitchen and a lovely folder containing information about places to eat nearby as well as a selection of leaflets for nearby attractions and things to see or do. I have to say I'd not come across 'stacker beds' before so me and my sister (at nearly and just over 30) had lots of fun trying to get in and out of them as they're quite low. It was a good excuse to stay in bed for a lie-in! The location of the cottage was also excellent. I'd had a quick look at Google maps to see where everything was in relation to the cottage and could see it was close to the town centre shops but of course you never really know until you're there in person. We were within short walking distance of at least 4 attractions in the town as well as the shops and numerous pubs which meant we were able to have a few days where we didn't need the car, which you can't always do if you're in a more coastal/rural location. When we did use the car we were surprised to find how close and easy to access a lot of places in Cornwall are. We visited Newquay and got there in about 35 minutes. We also visited The Minack Theatre, which is almost as far down as you can go. That was our longest journey at about 1.5 hours but the roads were big and easy until the last few miles. To sum up then; we loved the property, it's location in Bodmin and the accessibility to the rest of Cornwall. A great base to explore the whole county with a comfortable, homely welcome when you get back. I'm already looking to book again next year!"
