Welcome to Palmers Farm Cottages. Set in a fabulously rural location in the heart of Bodmin Moor, close to the village of St Breward, these two lovely single-storey properties are semi-detached barn conversions. Located on a 50-acre working beef and sheep farm, the cottages have beautiful views across the open moors. They are exceptionally well furnished and decorated, each have a bright, light and modern interior, and can be booked individually or together. They are connected by a soundproofed door which can be opened up to make one larger property. Alex Tor Cottage (ref UK11282) has a most spacious bedroom with a kingsize bed plus a single bed and a lovely living room with vaulted ceilings and beams. Candra (ref UK11283) is a studio-style property with a difference. As well as the kingsize bed on the ground floor there are wooden stairs leading up to a mezzanine in the loft space, with another bed for flexible sleeping arrangments. They each have a door opening onto their gardens. Both properties accept pets and the welcoming owners who live in the farmhouse just across the yard, have three friendly labradors. A footpath runs through the farm and there are the most wonderful moorland walks right on your doorstep. The village is just a 10-minute walk down country lanes and across the moors where you will find a super pub, village shop and post office. These cottages could suit couples looking for a completely restful, rural and quiet getaway holiday. Perfect throughout the year, not just for summer holidays, and lovely for spring, winter and autumn breaks too. This area of moorland is really quite beautiful with high tors and vast open moorlands. Ponies and grazing sheep and even a herd of Highland cattle can be found roaming the area. Close by is the picturesque Delphy Bridge, an ancient granite bridge with a river flowing below. During the summer this is a great photo opportunity to see the wild ponies and cattle come down off the hills to drink in the moorland water. If you want to head towards the coast, the closest beach is Port Isaac less than 10 miles away, home of the TV show ’Doc Martin’ and the popular shanty singers, ’The Fisherman’s Friends’. You can then follow the Atlantic highway all the way up to Bude, or down to Wadebridge. Drive back across the moors and in less than 10 minutes you reach the A30 making this a very central location for exploring the whole of Cornwall. Spend a leisurely day close to home, enjoy the surrounding area and dine at the lovely village pub, which is owned by the property owners. A grocery service can be arranged from the village shop and guests are sure of a warm welcome from the friendly cottage owners who enjoy having guests staying on their farm.
