Outside, the large rear lawn is perfect for al fresco dining or enjoying the peace and quiet of the country, and there’s also a secluded cobbled courtyard leading off from the large utility/boot room. Country pursuits such as duck flighting, deer stalking and salmon fishing are available, and taster sessions can be booked directly with the owner. To the north-west, Padstow is home to an array of shops, pubs, restaurants and a popular cycle trail, and fans of Doc Martin will be drawn to Port Isaac, which is where the TV series was filmed. The villages of Rock and Polzeath are also well worth a visit, and further down the coast is Newquay, with its fantastic beaches and surfing opportunities. An afternoon spent exploring Cardinham Woods is a must for cyclists, Bodmin Moor offers some fantastic walking terrain, and the National Trust property Lanhydrock House is just a short drive away.
