Colley Mill Farm in Congleton

Welcome to Colley Mill Farm. Conveniently situated right between the hills of the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain, this cosy cottage is in an ideal spot to enjoy the best of both worlds. The attractive open plan living/dining/kitchen area has original beams - a reminder of when it served as a farm cottage adjoining the 18c mellow brick farmhouse. Newly furnished and decorated, with the benefit of central heating plus an open fire, it offers comfortable accommodation throughout the year. Situated in lovely green countryside, visitors can enjoy walks across farmland, up Bosley Cloud or along the Macclesfield Canal, with its spectacular flight of twelve locks at nearby Bosley. Within a short drive are the woodland trails through Macclesfield Forest, Teggs Nose Country Park and the dramatic stone outcrops of the Roaches. The towns of Macclesfield and Congleton, with their shops and restaurants, are within easy reach, as is Buxton with its beautiful opera house and summer festivals. Astronomy lovers shouldn’t miss Jodrell Bank with its famous telescope. This part of the country is rich in historic houses too – including the lovely half-timbered halls at Gawsworth and Little Moreton and the National Trust properties of Styal Mill and Biddulph Grange. This area is also ideal for day visits to some of the North West’s most vibrant cities such as Chester, Manchester and Liverpool. Farmhouse Cottage (CC412102) can be booked with Swallows Barn Cottage (CC412101) to accommodate up to six guests.
