Spurling Cottage is a fantastic characterful cottage in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding areas of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
This charming village is less than four miles from Newmarket and is a fantastic base with a local shop and pub which serves delicious meals from a seasonal menu. Set within easy travelling distance of some popular towns and villages including Cambridge and Bury St Edmonds, this delightful village is a fantastic base. Spend a day at Thetford Forest Park where there are fantastic opportunities for walkers, runners, mountain bikers and horseriders.

"Ideally situated for us to visit relatives in this Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border area but also close to other attractions such as Newmarket and Cambridge city.On arrival one of the co-owners, Mr D, gave us a warm and sincere greeting and a comprehensive guide to the cottage. We greatly appreciated the 'extras' left in the fridge for our use. We have used many self-catering rentals over the decades but cannot think of one as clean and as well equipped as Spurling Cottage. The proprietors clearly care about their property and the comfort of their guests. The one car parking is spacious but may not be sutiable for the small minority with vehicles that sit close to the ground. We have a Honda Civic and on access and egress I always heard a slight chafing noise from the protective rubber skirts around the engine bay. The agents on-line pictures clearly show this is not a 'twee chocolate box' cottage but a fairly modern one at the beginning of a small estate of similar dwellings. The area is quiet and the locals polite and friendly.When we revisit relatives in the area Spurling Cottage will be our first choice of a place to stop."
