Reviews of Motte Cottage

"Stayed at the cottage with three other couples. We had a walking holiday in the area and were blessed with fine weather. The house worked out fine for us all. Comfortable rooms, a lovely large kitchen that became our focal point and convenient for the town. We discovered that you can't all shower at the same time as the hot water draws away from others in use if the main king size suite bedroom is being used. Not a major issue as we staggered our showers. Good quality furnishings, attention to detail on what is needed for the purpose of self catering and I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage."

"stayed here for a week in March for my Birthday. Everything was fine and everyone enjoyed the cottage. 4 bedrooms two doubles two twins three en-suite,large kitchen and good sitting room. Lots of nice little touches and good quality fittings. There was a very large cooker and fridge freezer, just check the freezer as some people left surplus food, for the next occupants to use. Nice log burning stove in sitting room. Plenty of books and games as well as a box containing lots of local information. Parking is free and pretty much unrestricted on the road outside. Co-op at top of street open till 23.00 hrs every day. We used the Black Bull pub which was nice and friendly with an open fire and meals until 21.00hrs. Tapas and drinks at the No1 hotel were well above average. The owner was friendly and helpful leading up to the booking, but never interfered whilst we were there. About 17 miles to Alnwick and Holy Island. Would have no hesitation in booking this cottage again"
