Reviews of Canalside Cottage

"We stayed at Canalside Cottage for a long weekend and it was a home from home. The cottage is equipped with everything you'd need and more - it was the little creature comforts that made it such a great place to stay. The cottage is situated overlooking the canal so you can watch the boats / walkers / joggers / bikers go by when sat in the living room or even sat in the bath ! The cottage is 1 minute walk from a great pub (The White Lion) which was really welcoming and has good food with big portions and a good range of ales. Skipton is a 10 minute drive away and is a lovely town with some great shops. There are lovely walks directly from the cottage or you can venture further afield with Ilkely Moor, Settle and Malham all within a short drive. All in all, it was a wonderful break and we will definitely be staying again."

"The photos don't do this cottage justice - it is quite simply lovely. We are a couple with 3 children and there is more than enough room to relax. The kitchen is very well equipped which can be unusual in rental cottages. The view is beautiful with rolling countryside and a direct view of the canal and the boats gliding past. Very comfortable beds and lovely homely feel make this cottage a perfect base for visiting the surrounding attractions. "

"Stayed here with our sons and their girlfriends in late August. Great location, fantastic views both of the cottage and the Pennines in the distance. Cottage finished to a very high standard, particularly the kitchen, which was great for us all to settle in as we all took turns to cook in the evenings! Bedrooms more than large enough and very comfortable. We even managed to use the outside space for some al fresco breakfast eating, in late August in Yorkshire! There was a slight problem with the boiler switching itself off two or three times whilst people were showering, but we are told the owner is resolving this issue. All in all, a great cottage, a great holiday, plenty to do and see nearby, pub a two minute walk away (Tuesday night is pie night, highly recommended!). Don't dither - book it!"

"Three generations of our family stayed at this gorgeous cottage in August 2015, aged between 8 months & 66 years. The property was located in beautiful surroundings and we loved watching the barges pass by the living room window on the canal. My 5 year old son loved feeding the ducks from the footbridge over the canal & playing in the nearby little play area. The cottage facilities were great, the kitchen was gorgeous I wish my kitchen at home was as nice ! The bedrooms were spacious and have two bathrooms was perfect for our family. Great location for exploring, we loved Skipton visiting the castle & taking a barge tour. "

"The view from the cottage was outstanding, not only could you watch the canal boats float by, but you can also see for miles! Six adults were staying and there was plenty of room for us all. We particularly appreciated the large kitchen, where we could congregate to chat while the cook for the day was busy!"
